1. Will it pay for my cost of childbirth?
No, it does not. It will pay out benefits in the event of jaundice requiring phototherapy, HDU/ICU, pre-mature and congenital illnesses.
2. Will an emergency or planned C-section be covered?
No, a c-section will not be covered. If the child is placed in HDU/ICU afterwards, we will payout RM 300/RM 500 per day based on number of days in the ICU/HDU with a maximum amount
3. What is covered?
The main things that are covered are :
i. Birth requiring HDU/ICU (maximum 60 days within first year of birth) – RM 250 for plan A / RM 500 for plan B reimbursement per day.
ii. Incubation of newborn child (within the first 60 days from birth) – RM 100 for plan A / RM 200 for plan B reimbursement per day.
iii. Neonatal jaundice requiring phototherapy treatment – one off RM 500 for plan A / RM 1000 for plan B.
iv. Hospitalisation due to congenital illness – covers up to RM 15,000 per year until age 5 for plan A / covers up to RM 30,000 per year until age 5 for plan B.
Congenital illnesses covered :
Ventricular Septal Defect , Atrial Septal Defect, Tetralogy of Fallot, Transposition of Great Vessels, Coarctation of Aorta, Infantile Hydrocephalus, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Cleft Lip with/without Cleft Palate, Congenital Cataract, Congenital Deafness, Anal Atresia, Oesophageal Atresia, Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, Tracheo-oesophageal Fistula, Down’s Syndrome and Retinopathy of Prematurity.
4. Is this covered under hospital alliance services?
For pre-natal related illnesses, it is under reimbursement basis in which you have to pay and claim later.
5. What is required for claim?
All original receipts, related medical reports (blood test, x-rays, etc), discharged summary, final itemized bill, invoices and doctor statement. Amin will advise later if the need arises.
6. What if nothing is wrong and all is good?
Music to my ears, that means everything is good and child is healthy. The child will have medical card that will pay for hospital bills in the future if he/she needs to be admitted.
7. Will monthly pregnancy check ups be covered?
Unfortunately no monthly checkups are not covered. Before or after giving birth.
